Buy Iphone 4 from abroad?

I am going to Mexico and have noticed that Walmart will be selling the new Iphone for around $200, a massive saving on the UK price. If i buy this phone from abroad when i bring it back to the UK will it work correctly? I would look to buy one that didn't have a sim lock on it.
 
Check to see that it is an English phone, you don't want to have a Spanish speaking phone.....

$200 is contract sign up in America with AT&T. And you won't be able to get it unlocked in America even if you did manage to find someone selling for that price. You won't find that price instore anywhere there.

We're lucky mate, across the pond, people are banging their heads because the only way they're gonna get iphones are by signing up and it's exclusive to one network only.

We get the choice across five networks.

If you were going to France then understandable because they getting it unlocked too.
