Buying a motorcycle with a replaced engine?

Hello all I am looking at a 2005 GSXR. All the plastics seems good but the owner told me that the original engine blew up so he bought one off ebay and replaced it. I believe he mostly used it on the track and it seems to be healthy. It currently has 35k miles or so. In your opinion is it a good idea to buy a bike with a replaced engine?
