Buying a used 2007 mazda rx8 with a new engine?

CARFAX states that there is a accident reported in 2008. The dealer is offering $15999 for the vehicle with 62k. I'm getting the feeling that i'm buying a car that just had a heart transplant. Is this a good deal or is buying a used car with a new engine a bad idea?
 
No, it's not a bad idea, but I'd wonder about a car that's only 4 years old and needed a new engine with only 62k miles on it. Doesn't sound like the most durable car.
