I just got $200 worth of gift certificates for a mall. But I'm only allowed to spend it at 2 stores only because they don't get out change. I'm thinking of buying a credit card gift certificate.

If I buy a $100 worth, will it cost $113? (Ontario tax)? Or will it simply be $100?

gift card gift certificates all have a fake tax associated with them. im not sure about canada, but in the US it is $5 on a $100 gift card. i doubt it would be as high as $13, but im not canadian so wouldnt know the number for sure.

There's no tax on gift cards, because you'll pay the tax when you buy an actual item with the gift card.. if that makes sense.
