I work for a retail corporation, one which I will not name.
There is a forum online in which employees talk about the job, positive, negative, it's all there.
However, there is a rule that nobody can reveal their store location or their name publicly on the forum, due to fear that the company will fire you for posting.
I am wondering, does this infringe upon our right to free speech?
It's basically just for employees, most people outside the company don't even know it exists, and it would serve no purpose to them otherwise.
Well if they did choose to fire someone based upon what they wrote on a forum, couldn't the former employee argue in court that their right to free speech were infringed upon and they were fired unjustly?
Keep in mind, companies hate lawsuits against them, especially ones that allege poor treatment of workers.
