can a nosebleed be fatal?

im freaking out right now. My mother who is 44 has had a nosebleed for about 20 hours now. She went to the er and they packed it and sent her home. Well she went back to th er 10 hours later and her nose wouldnt stop bleeding. shes been admitted tot he hospital a littl bit ago. Can this be serious or fatal? Has anyone experience this before?

Her blood isn't forming a clot(scab) as it should, it's possible she has a blood disorder, or more likely it is just a fluke. She's in good hands now, they'll stop the bleeding and will do tests to determine why it didn't stop on its own.
