Can a Samsung Galaxy Indulge be updated to Android 2.3?

I have a Freeform II right now and want a newer phone. I am leaning toward the Indulge because it has a slide-out keyboard vs the Attain, which is touchscreen only. I am curious if the Indulge can be updated to Android 2.3.

I am aware the Indulge has a crappy battery life and know where to buy an extended battery.
