phone service? Just curious if you have to subscribe to the phone service to get things like wifi, if I am in a wifi area will it work even if I don't have the phone service?

Just considering purchasing a used iphone, but I don't want it for the phone, just everything else.

iphone just has the phone and internet anywhere and the good maps

it works just like a ipod touch other that
you need to activate it by company to even use it or get on it
so basically just get a ipod touch but youll only be able to get wifi at wifi spots or at your home
iphone has edge or 3g which you can use anywhere
