Can an MMA career last?

If I managed to get into an MMA company as a fighter, such as UFC etc. Is that a career that I can keep permanently until I get too old, or do people continuously get pushed out so new ones can come in? Also how much would UFC fighters get paid? What about smaller MMA companies?

MMA is like comic creators , novelists , indie game design and many other careers they are GAMBLING and it's rare for someone to hit big. Yes if you get signed, hit it big and make good money a career can last however if (like most) you do matches and make money and so forth you won't be making enough to live on. If you aren't making big money and enough to live on your just gambling.
