Can any bluetooth headset listen to sounds on computer and MP3 player?

Can any (compatible) bluetooth headset listen to things on the computer. If I'm buying a headset for the phone can i also connect it to a bluetooth compatible computer and listen to the sounds that come out of the computer be it music or podcasts or etc...? Can i also listent to music through the headset on an mp3 player too?
