I was telling a friend of mine about my idea to join a gay/straight alliance and she dismissed it saying "it was really only for gay people to talk to other gay people about their feelings and everyone would resent me for joining it because I'd be the only straight person there and they would think I was taking them on as cause" I didn't really agree with her because, first of all, she is very conservative and has never bothered to look into something like that so she speaks with limited and outdated experience. I would also think that a group like that would be based on joining people together and not tearing them further apart. Maybe I'm wrong, I mean I don't have a wealth of knowledge either but I thought I could get an opinion that was based more off of fact and experience. Thank you
