Can civilians in the UK own and fly former military jets/helicopters?

I've read a lot about Americans buying old Soviet aircraft and I would love to have MiG-29 'Fulcrum' (obviously demilitarised), but I'm not even sure UK legislation allows it. Is it possible in the UK?

The same also for Mil Mi-24 'Hind', would something like that be legal?
