Can dogs really laugh?

....its an upper respitory thing with their pallet and the back of the throat...our small chihuahua does it too... sorry lol. I wish they could! but my dogs smile ALOT haha
 
I swear my chihuahua laughs. He makes this strange coughin sound wen ever he excited.
 
Might want to make a call to the vet or bring it up in his next exam, making odd coughing sounds during excitement can also indicate trachea issues or heart issues, especially in small breeds.
 
I think dogs know when we're doing something silly. My dog will sometimes smile at me. Yet again, I own a pom - and they're always "smiling".

But for the sake of this cool question, I want to say yes, they laugh. Haven't you ever tickled your dog? :o)
