Can I buy a car from a dealer using my debit card?

I have a windfall coming next month and plan to settle some debts and buy a car. I'm looking to spend about £4k on the car and was wondering for speed of transaction and security, if I could pay by debit card. I haven't started looking for it yet so don't have the dealers details.
 
Yes you can i used to be in the business and debit cards was always excepted. But there is a catch in some places, some places might charge you to pay by debit card but not drastic amount.
 
yes as long as the money is in your account then you can spend as much as you want as long as the dealer accepts debit/credit cards
 
we used ours for the deposit on our truck.the only thing that happened was we had to call the bank and have them raise the daily spending limit.
