Can I cancel my t-mobile contract early without paying the early termination fee?

I have an unlimited data/text plan and it runs until November. I just got a msg from t-mobile saying that starting next month they will start charging for texts sent to numbers in Canada. I swap about 500 texts a month with a good friend in Canada. Can I terminate my contract without having to pay the termination fee as the terms of service have changed?
I haven't spoken with anyone at t-mobile yet, I wanted to get some advice before I called them so I can speak with confidence if I know what my rights are.
 
no. but you can let someone who's willing too.. take over the payment so that it will not affect your credit.but other than that you'll be stuck with the early tem fee. When i had t-mobile i wanted to go to verizon so i used the lowest plan possible on t-mobile and rarely used it but used my verizon for everything else.
