Can I change my emergency call button on my tmobile LG mytouch?

On my old android phone, (a motorola defy) the emergency call button on the lock screen just brought me right to a dial screen. On my LG mytouch, it automatically dials 911 even if i accidentally tap it. It has happened twice now and I just received this phone about a month ago. Is there a way I can change the settings so that this doesn't happen?

THE POLICE JUST LEFT MY HOUSE...... I just called the police 4 times today with the same damn issue, I have my phone locked up, theres that big ass emergency button at the bottom of the screan and walking up the stairs while phone is in my pocket, or kid jumps on me to give me a hug, i sit down for christ sake and wahlah! I have butt dialed 911 again this time after they listened to the phone call for over 5 minutes (must have been tracing the call) I hear my door bell ring about 15 20 minutes later and theres to Las Vegas Metro police officers out side my door, they ask whos in the house?> I said my wife and kids, they say can we speak with them? I said huh? sure I guess, apparently they wanted to make sure I wasent killing anyone. They actually walked into my house not even asking if they could enter, I didnt say anything because I didnt feel like ruining my night over the god damn stupid mytouch emergency call button butt dialing the cops! after seeing my family i finally say, "Whats the issue?" the officer says " someone dialed 911 from here and we heard a lady say something along the lines of stop punching me! I rolled my eyes over the absurdness of the whole situation and explained how messed up my stupid phone was and how I dont know how to fix it and how i wasent beating my family yadayada yada, so I looked into if there was any way to fix the stupid issue with the emergency call button constantly dropping the dime on me. I hope to learn how to rid my phone of this issue imediatly.
