can i connect my xbox 360 to xbox live when i have tmobile broadband on my laptop?

i have just got my xbox 360 eilte and i have the t mobile usb broadband modem (hsdpa) but i am having trouble with the IP address does anyone know how i can connect up to xbox live i have connected my laptop to my xbox by plugging in the ether net adapter. any help thank
