Can I download the new software udpate for Samsung Glyde using the USB cord?

I have aVerizin Glyde and I need the new software to fix my touch screen but I dont have transportation so I cant get to a verizon store. I have the USB cord that connects the phone to the cmputer. Is there any way that I can dowload the software offline and install it on my phone via the computer?? Please help me. My screen is soooo messed up and i cant afford a new phone right now.
they do not offer the software on the verizon wireless website. It is on the samsung website but my computer wont allow me to download it. Please help me!!
