Can I enable a out of the box phone with T-Mobile Service?

I really want the IPHONE but my service with T-Mobile doesnt expire until November 08...pleasse help

Also does the iphone use sim cards?
 
The iPhone is not "unlocked," so no you cannot use it with other carriers yet
