Can i get a disease from a vacation to mexico?

Well, you can pick up a "bug" anywhere you visit, be it Mexico, Canada, or a neighboring state.

That said, here are the latest reports from the Center for Disease Control on what a traveler to Mexico should consider:

Beyond that, common sense should be the rule whenever you travel outside of your own country, no matter what the destination. Watch out for raw fruits that don't have a peel, stick to bottled water, etc. Undercooked pork is a no-no as cysticercosis parasites are not uncommon in swine populations in a number of Latin American countries. Properly cooked meat should present no risk, though, and infections are very rare.

Have a good time in Mexico, and don't worry too much. You should be just fine.
