Can I get into a Lounge/Bar if I'm 20? (Manhattan nyc)?

I know everyone says this but I do look really old
and plus im about 5'10
people tend to guess im in my mid 20s

are there lounges in manhattan I can go to that don't card people?
or even a restaurant/bar type of place?
or do I have to be 21 at every place?

I want to go somewhere to hangout and find a boyfriend/someone to date, but bookstores and cafes are boring
any suggestions?
 
NYC is very strict, and there is no way you are going to get into any nice bars/clubs/lounges without proper ID stating that you are 21. If you try, and get turned down, you'll be embarrassed as hell
 
in american the legal drinking age is 21 and most bouncers will card anyone at the door who looks under 30 i thnk thats how it is

but at a resturant most places will still card you. the only way to advoid it is to actually know the bartender but they could get into major legal trouble

my advice is either go to a forign country or just wait till your 21
