...hooked up to another tv? The TVs are in the same house, but I want to put the DVR in the living room and the regular box in the bedroom.

Or will I just have to call DirecTV?

Go ahead and try, all you need is a cable jack with the coax from the dish. Make sure you connect it the same way.

If it doesn't come on or work, it's because the signal is not getting there and the coax isn't connected.

Someone handy will be able to figure it out if you want to avoid paying dtv.
