Yes. You can also install an internal HD in an external HD case.

Well definatly yes for a regular sized internal dvd drive, yes you can do that. But if your talking about a laptop dvd drive, then I sincerly doubt it becuase almost every laptop drives connection is different on the back.

The regular dvd drive connections (on the back) are a 12v power plug and a 40 pin ribbon cable. They look like this:

You should be able to.
Open up the case and look inside. If you see the appropraite connects (IDE or SATA and a power supply) then it should be possible.
