Can I keep my T-mobile number if I switch companies?

I want to get Boost Mobile and I really want to keep my existing phone number for multiple reasons, has anyone had experience with keeping their numbers the same? I called Boost and they said I need my account number and some kind of pin, and a while ago I called T-moblie asking about it and a representative told me that all I had to do was just tell the provider I want to switch to that I want to keep my number from them and that was all...

Yes,You will do it.
If you want to change another network but keeping same number,First you will do Number portability.After getting your new sim card,Make sure your phone is unlocked one and accept your new carrier..If it's restricted by single network means,try to unlock your mobile before swap your sim.For unlocking visit Unlocking4free.com They will provide an unlocking service for old mobile model only.
