Can I send (share) files from computer to another computer using phone line?

Can I Share file through a phone line? I went to Network wizard and saw something that said you can use a phone line to connect between 2 computersm
 
For about $20 you can buy a USB file transfer cable that will do it super easy.
 
No. The easiest way is to go to RadioShack and get a "crossover" ethernet cable to direct connect two machines.
