Can I switch my Telus number with a Fido number?

I want to take my mom's plan with fido. I'm with telus. Will they let us switch numbers? Like her number goes onto the telus phone and mine goes to the Fido phone? Thanks

P.S. can I buy a phone from telus before my contract finishes? thanks soo much

You can't switch numbers.
You can buy a phone from TELUS at any time you wish but it will be at full price (non-contract).
