Can I switch SIM cards from T-Mobile Blackberry to a new smartphone like Samsung...

...Vibrant or HTC? I have a 2008 T-Mobile Blackberry 8300 with unlimited data plan. I am no longer under contract and would like to switch my phones to something like a T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant or a My Touch. My questions are:

1) Can I just switch my SIM card to a new T-Mobile phone? (I do not want a new contract)

2) Is the unlimited data plan for a Blackberry different than for a newer smartphone? Does the data still transfer the same? My bill states my available service is "BB BIS AddOn" which seems as if it is specific to the Blackberry. I have unlimited data, MyFaves, and texts.

Thank you for the information!

A Blackberry Data plan is for Blackberry phones (period), your android phone will not work on the Blackberry plan. I recently switched from Blackberry to Android, and could not use the Android on the BB plan, and can only use the BB as a phone on the Android plan (but can still use some apps and the browser on Wifi).

So what you will need to do with T-Mobile is contact the Retentions department and ask for a plan that gives you what you have now for the price or as close to it as possible, that allows you to keep your MyFaves. (if Myfaves is important to you).

I'm paying 10 bucks more a month for what I had with my BB plan with 1000 mins, free Nights and Weekends, unlimited data, text, MMS and still have Myfaves).
