Can I unlock the blackberry Storm for Tmobile?

If I unlock the Blackberry Storm for Tmobile will it Develop some issues or will it work well?will certain applications not work,and could the phone crash after a period of use?
Or, will Tmobile be getting the storm this summer or ever?Because I think they should be the first hand receiver to all Blackberry products.
