A friend shipped a subwoofer to me and he does not have a power chord for it. I have a 10A 125V~ power chord and the sub says 120V~60Hz 2A. I plugged it in and it seems to be playing fine(could not wait), nothing out of the ordinary. How long will this hold up, or should I even be doing this. I know A is amps, Hz is hertz and V is volts and thats about it. I also have a 250V 2.5A power chord.
I greatly appreciate whoever helps.

Yes no problem. As long as the cord has a higher rating than the device you are supplying power to you're good to go.

Let me add this: The 10amp cord is the better choice. The other cord you have (2.5a) is cutting it too close for long term use because you only have a 1/2 amp higher rating than what the subwoofer power requirements.

Hope this helps
