Can I use a Boost sims card in a Nextel phone..with Boost Mobile Service?

Someone told me that it will eventually cause the sims card to burn up or something if I put a Boost mobile sims card in a Nextel Phone for a long time...is this true???

Also, Which Nextel/spring phone is a good phone?? camera phone?? I bought the i776 phone and the camera sucks!!!

any suggestions???
