Can I use an unlocked Blackjack with Tmobile's internet service?

I have a Samsung Blackjack that is unlocked for Tmobile. I heard that I cannot use Tmobile's internet and/or download features on the Blackjack because the software is Cingular exclusive. Is this true, and if so is there any way around this? Thanks.
