Can Nero burn FLV to make a data DVD? Convert them first?

I just burnt 2 disks using NERO full of FLV's along with verifying and said they were successful but went to play them from the disk they wouldn't play. Used 2 different players as well to check. I just want a data disk really. Do I need to convert them first? Does NERO not play nice with FLV?
