ok so me and my friends want to work out at the weight room but a lot of guys in my family say that lifting weights is growth stunting. however, i read in this teen book that this 5' 0" guy worked out super much, and followed this football jocks diet and by the end of highschool was like 6'0" and went to the NFL so idk please help
this isnt weight loss kind its pumping iron kind like lifting weights

No, lifting weights won't stunt your growth. That is a myth.

It depends on how old you are when you start. there are growth simulators in your muscles and if you exercise too much it can tear them causing them not to work and therefore not grow. It all depends on age, usually men should not work out too much if they are still in their teen years but after growing has stopped than you can do as much as you like. So to answer your question, yes "pumping iron" can stunt your growth

u need to chose what to do n what not to do
u can workout moderately n stil grow
anthr thng u haven mentioned ur age here which has a major role in growth
don go 4 heavy weight especially on ur squats do a lot of calf raises n skipping rope
go 4 light weights n more reps for a while to let ur limbs grow then u can switch onto heavy weights n less reps....
