Hi, I was wondering if Queensland Police are permitted to search your mobile phone (messages, etc) and under what circumstances they are allowed to do so?

Also, can police conduct personal and vehicular searches to a person and under what circumstances?

A little background info: I was charged with possessing a small amount of marijuana a couple of years ago, they pot was in my car (a friends, literally.) & I tried to conceal it. I went to court and the judge said I had "unbounded potential", threw some snide remarks to the police prosecutor then waived Drug Diversion and gave me a trivial fine of $150. I am by no means a criminal.

The police have since registered my vehicle as a "Vehicle of interest in relation to drug supply". Utterly ridiculous. I only found out because it was in the police report when I attended court and my solicitor informed me.

Ever since, I have been harassed by police, even when I'm driving a friends car if they pull me over they will search the car, our phone messages and our persons. If I refuse a vehicle search, they say I have been convicted of drug offenses in the past which provides them with reasonable suspicion.

Also, I was in a night club several weeks ago and there was a police presence inside, one of the police officers recognized me and proceeded to detain me for a "strip search", (this is the third time I have been searched without being in a vehicle) they took me into the toilets and I complied with their personal search but declined to be strip searched. I asked for their badge numbers, names and station locations which I noted in my phone and made sure they knew I was well aware of my rights under the PPRA which seemed to disarm their attempts at strip searching me and they released me.

All of this is getting quite tiring. Since my original drug conviction (no conviction recorded) I have never even received an offense. Surely there is something I can do about this. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

change yoru name & car if u can.

or ask a lawyer about a taking it to court.

Or go to the police station & book an apointment with the chief inspector, & talk with the man/woman about how you feel you are being treated, & make sure you record teh meeting, then if it happens again, you could show this to a lawyer & they should have somthing to work with.
because you have tried to resolve it.
