Can Remote controlled toys pick up signals and drive themselves?

My son has a new RC car toy, and sometimes it drives several inches by itself when no one is playing with it! Could it be picking up other signals?

Yes, mine does that sometimes. Just take it away from electronics(outside). Tv, fan, microwave, etc.:3_3_21[1]:
