Can someone find me a dvd decoder for my laptop?

Ok. So on the 12th i got a portable disk thingy..for my aspire one.
And i cant get the dvd's to play cause it says i need a dvd decoder
and ive installed everything for it..can someone help me plz.
 
Install VLC Media Player. It's free, open source, and can play DVD's without the need for a decoder
