can someone please explain the future tense for me in spanish?

In Spanish there are two future tenses. One is the same as 'I am going to do something' and the other is 'I will do something'.

The first is really easy to form and use. You take the present tense of ir:
Voy
Vas
Va
Vamos
Vaís
Van
and then you add 'a' , and then the infinitive of whatever you are trying to say. for example:
I am going to eat - Voy a comer
I am going to go - Voy a ir
We are going to play - Vamos a jugar

The other future tense is a little more complicated. Instead of using Ir, you add on the future endings to the infinitive of the verb. The endings are the same whether it is an AR,ER or IR verb:

-ás

-emos
-éis
-án

They will eat - ComerÁN
We will live - VivierEMOS

There are 12 verbs which have an irregular stem (as do the verbs that stem from them eg deshacer stems from hacer). The verbs with the irregular stems have the same endings as the regular verbs though.

Caber - Cabr-É etc
Decir - Dir-É
Haber - Habr-É
Hacer - Har-É
Poder - Podr-É
Poner - Pondr-É
Querer - Querr-É
Saber - Sabr-É
Salir - Saldr-É
Tener - Tendr-É
Valer - Valdr-É
Venir - Vendr-É

They will go out - SaldrÁN
I will want - QuerrÉ
You will know - SabrÁS
