Can someone tell me why U.S troops are in any country they are in?

Besides Afganastan and Iraq.? i need to know any of the 135 countries that US troops are in and why they are there. I understand why they are in Afganastan and Iraq but why in any other countries. For a history project. As much info as possible please.
