Can someone who has converted to Judaism go on Birthright?

My boyfriend is in the process of converting to Judaism, as we are not allowed to get engaged until he does. He has been through all of the holidays with us, my brothers Bar Mitzvah, everything, and is serious about leading a Jewish lifestyle in the future. I have not taken my Birthright trip yet, and I was wondering if he would be eligible once his conversion was complete or if it was only available to those who who have been born/raised Jewish.

Once converted - he's Jewish not "converted to Judaism." Same whatever criteria applies, applies the same.

Only caveate is the Orthodox currently don't recognize any conversions but by their own Bet Din. So you'd have to check with the program what their standards are on this. It's a across the board program, so not likely a problem.

.....
Just saw the screen name. A Jewish person rarely uses Jesus - including to spoof on it. Too rude & still involved in something against Judaism. So, I'll assume you are just trying to play a joke here?

If your screen name reflects your faith, I MUST assume that this question is trolling. Or is it your screen name that is trolling? In any instance, clarification is necessary because of the screen name.

The Birthright trips are for Jewish people. A convert is every bit as Jewish as one born a Jew but someone who is of the Christian faith is definitely not Jewish. Calling yourself a Jesus freak here gives the appearance that you are Christian.

Sorry, the trip is for Jewish youth.

Shalom
