can stress cause your periods to be lighter?

I have had two deaths in my family in the last two months. Paying for college with two unemployed parents and my father is extremely sick. Trying to get good grades and I am on probation. I have been under so much stress in the past two weeks its unimaginable. Could this cause my period to be lighter?
