Can the capacity of the buffering be adjusted on DIVX?

Ok ive been watching videos off the internet that use DIVX, these videos are movies and are about 2 hours long, I will load a video but it will be buffering for about 5 minutes, no not because the connection is slow but it buffers a whole 15 to 20 minutes of the movie. It will literally buffer an 8th of the video before it even plays at all, is there anyway i can knock this down to like only 2 minutes, its kinda irritating
 
It honestly depends on where you're streaming from, what your connection speed is and what client you are using. If you are getting these from Netflix, they are known to have a long buffering time.

If it is a service that lets you use your own client (like VLC for example), you can see the guide for your client to change the buffer setting.
