Can the vent tube from a dryer be routed under the dryer?

The hole that leads to the exhaust pipe out of the apartment in on the floor and I don't really want the tube just sitting out in the open. The last place I lived had the exhaust pipe mounted into the wall so I don't quite remember if this is possible.
 
I don't see why not if you can fit it under there. The dryer doesn't get that hot underneath; however a better option would be to purchase a dehumidification condenser washer/dryer unit
