we rent some land 3 acres were hoping to get planning permisssion to turn the stables into dog kennels but was refused but we are hoping to buy some quad bikes but were told that we can only do this if we use them for less than 12 days a year is this correct or just a lie from the council!!!!
Someone please help
The lady we rent from has no problem just the snobs in the village .

The council can impose such conditions if they want to. Shame the snobs have decided they prefer not to hear the quads more than 12 days per year.

Be careful. There are some local licensing laws which limit activities on *any* land being used for certain activities, such as noisy ones. So that 12 days a year thing could be (and sounds to me) perfectly genuine.

Seems like a matter to take up with the 'snobs' as this is a legal issue and/or hire an attorney.

Check the zoning for the land and the local codes. The council can block you if the tax payers allow them too.

You can do what you please on your land as long as you are not disrupting passers by so use them in the middle and you should get no trouble.
