Even if you check the box "Data Enabled", can you be charged for using data (no data plan)?
Please help!
 
Nope, you will not be charged even if you check the box "Data Enabled" because you don't have a data plan.
 
Read the fine print in your contract.
Usually you _do_ have the default data plan with any contract, so if you don't have a specific data plan, the (quite expensive) default data rates will apply.

The only solution is not to enable data for the cellphone network.
