Can you do the P90X abs workouts more than stated in routine?

Im on week 11 and have dropped 12 pounds so far. Im 5'8 165 which is okay I suppose. I can see from the chest to just above the belly shows abs. Will upping my ab workout to 4 times a week ( 2 workouts in a row, 1 day off, then 2 more, etc.) will that help show the lower abs or is it mainly the food intake at this point? I have not been 100% strict on my food intake, but have limited MOST of the junk. (This means I have a beer or two, once a week or a cracker here and there, I dont plop down with a whole bag of chips) I also eat an apple between meals which help cut down on eating...and I do the protien drink (whey 38g first thing in morning) and after workouts do 78g. Doing ab workouts 2 nights in a row and then rest for one day is okay as long as Im not sore, right? Im 40 and at this point in what I would consider pretty good shape... like I said Im in week 11 and I complete each session ( I may cuss at Tony some during it, but I get it done)
