Can you get Pen off of plastic?

I was keeping my mobile in my pocket, and when I took it out, I realized a pen, also in the pocket had leaked all over my phone. Is there anyway, or anything I can use to get it off? I've heard that nail polish remover works, but I'm worried it will burn through the plastic/paint.
I really need to know soon, so any suggestions will be very appreciated.
