My wife has been trying to figure out which sci-fi book this is. Here is the description she has provided me:
The cover has a hand of cards, with a starry background. She said the cards may have dragons on them instead of the normal suits (not exactly normal cards apparently). The book takes place on different planets/various places in outer space. The main guy is a gambler with a problem, the problem being that he is a gambler and he is constantly losing and so he is on the run from basically the "space mob". She said that once you start losing the game, you can't really win anymore (I suppose with debt or what have you).
Another clue: It was before 1997.
So does anyone have any idea at all as to what this could be?
