Can you keep a male and female chameleon together in the same cage?

I'm not talking about just for breeding, I'm more talking about a permanent home, as in, it's both their cages... Thanks!

it depends how large the cage is, if it is large enough to the point where they wont see eachother often, yes but if it is too small both will get stressed and she will end up pregnant and stressed, not too ideal.(btw i am talking about panther and veiled chameleons)
