Can You Play Blu Ray And Hd Dvd Disks On A Non HD TV?

If so What difference is there on hd or bluray disks that a normal dvd dosnt have if its not the hd quality is there more special features because Blu Ray Disks Are Supposed To Have At Least 5 Times The Memory of normal dvds which is why ps3 games are supposed to do better than 360 ones. jw

no you need an hdtv (the new flat screen tvs) to watch hd dvds. blue ray you either need the blue ray player or an ps3 to play blue ray and on top of that you need to get the dvds that are for blue. hd and blue ray are not the same.

Yes, you can. The pictures will be scaled down, so there is no benefit from using a standard def. DVD player.

However, there would be no improvement in quality unless you played it on an HDTV. Also, Blu-ray Disc has won the format war. This means that HD-DVD is a "dead" format, and will be useless before the holidays.
