can you trade an lg Voyager cell phone in for a prepaid phone?

The Voyager is a contract phone not compatible with prepaid, it was given to me as a gift and I can't use it due to the fact that i have a prepaid number. So i was wondering if it was possible to take it to a verizon store and trade it for a prepaid phone?
